At Chisholm Trail Ranch, we’re thrilled to be a part of Crowley ISD and excited for the opening of our new on-site elementary school this fall. Having educational opportunities close to home is a valuable experience, and Crowley ISD is expanding the opportunities students have for career readiness through a brand new Career & Tech Education Center and Collegiate Academy.
Located just four miles away from Chisholm Trail Ranch, the new Crowley ISD CTE Center will be situated next to the Sewell Agricultural Science Center on Longhorn Trail in Crowley. Scheduled to open in fall 2020, the state-of-the-art facility will be a new cornerstone for Crowley ISD to meet the education and workforce training demands of a growing, thriving community.
The new Crowley ISD CTE Center will provide both students and the greater community with an innovative environment for learning. Crowley ISD tapped VLK Architects to work with students, parents and educators to determine how the Center would best serve the growing community’s needs.
The facility features sustainable elements and information technology to enhance the learning experience. The open, fluid design offers students an ideal forum for collaboration, and a central courtyard is designed to serve as an outdoor learning venue.
“We brought students, parents and the community together to offer their perspective on what a new career technology center should look like, and what can prepare these children for the future. What’s most exciting is that we’ve gone from the design stage to now – we’re building the future,” said Dr. Michael McFarland, Crowley ISD superintendent, said in the latest issue of Crowley ISD Connections.
Crowley ISD offers thirteen career pathways that lead to a career program of study at the CTE Center. Programs include agriculture, veterinary science, architecture, accounting and marketing, health sciences, information technology and much more.
In addition to high school curriculum, the new Crowley ISD CTE Center will offer amenities and vocational programs serving the community including a gymnasium, board room and continuing education programs in cosmetology, barbering, restaurant and food service, and automotive.
The new Crowley ISD CTE Center and Collegiate Academy will open in the fall of 2020. The current Crowley ISD CTE building will become a fourth middle school, as originally designed.
Educational opportunities are blossoming near Chisholm Trail Ranch. In addition to the new Crowley ISD CTE Center, June W. Davis Elementary School opens in our community for the fall of 2019, and the new Tarleton State University Fort Campus located adjacent to Chisholm Trail Ranch also opens for students this fall.
